We are a fast growing team with a presence in most European countries. We are looking for our new Manager for our Internal Controls and Risk team to be part of our journey to revolutionize road freight logistics. You would join our Finance team in the Berlin office.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Manager of Internal Controls and Risk Management is responsible for overseeing the sennder’s internal control environment, identifying and mitigating risks, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. This role involves collaborating with various departments to develop, implement, and monitor effective internal control systems and risk management strategies.

We are looking for someone willing and eager to take on this challenge, as well as someone who brings a positive attitude and the desire to change and improve.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR…

Internal Controls:

  • Further develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive internal control framework.
  • Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Conduct periodic reviews and testing of internal controls to identify weaknesses and recommend improvements.
  • Prepare and present reports on the status of internal controls to senior management and the board of directors.

Risk Management:

  • Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures.
  • Identify, assess, and prioritize risks across the organization.
  • Collaborate with business units to develop risk mitigation strategies and action plans.
  • Monitor and report on the status of risk management activities.
  • Conduct risk assessments for new projects, initiatives, and business processes.

Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Foster a culture of risk awareness and internal control consciousness throughout the organization.
  • Work closely with the finance, commercial, operations, technology teams to integrate risk management into strategic decision-making processes.
  • Be a sparring partner for our CFO and other key members of the finance team regarding internal controls and risk related topics.

WHAT YOU HAVE…

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in internal controls, risk management, audit, or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO) and risk management principles.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Proven track-record in a management role in a multi-entity, dynamic environments, especially in digital and tech organizations or in a Big Four accounting firm
  • Enjoy managing and leading through change and energized by problem solving.
  • Have comprehensive experience with auditing processes, ideally in a listed company environment.
  • German and or Italian language skills as a plus.
